12.2 Feat Mechanics
12.2.1 Prerequisites
You cannot take a feat unless you meet all of its prerequisites. Prerequisites can include a minimum attribute value, other feats, a minimum skill training level, or other character properties. You can take a feat at the same level you first meet its prerequisites.
A character who no longer meets a feat’s prerequisites loses all abilities from that feat.
12.2.2 Skill Feats
Skill feats are weaker and more narrow in their focus than other feats. Whenever you would choose a single feat, you may instead choose two skill feats.
12.2.3 Feat Tags
All feats are organized into different groups by tags.
General: General feats can have a wide variety of effects. They often grant new abilities or improve general survivability.
Combat: Combat feats enhance your martial combat abilities. They often improve your strikes or improve your defenses against strikes.
Casting: Casting feats improve your spellcasting abilities. They are useless to characters who cannot cast spells.
Skill: Skill feats improve your skills. They make you more likely to succeed with skill checks and grant new abilities relevant to your skills.
Ancestry Feats: These feats allow characters with unusual ancestry to gain relevant abilities. You can only have one Ancestry feat.
Magical Feats: All abilities granted by feats with the Magical tag are magical ✨ in nature. Many feats are not entirely magical, but have specific magical effects.
